We look for people who are proactive and proficient. Our headquarters is in Cebu where currently over 60 people work to improve our services and technology.

You'll be working as a personal chef to an executive of the company who appreciates food and isn't afraid to hunt for ingredients. The job involves cooking meals (e.g. lunch and dinner) for Mon-Fri and doing additional prep for Sat/Sun where someone else will cook.

You'll be given some recipes but could also come up with your own meals and variations depending on produce availability and dietary requirements. The fact that it is not a restaurant and is a bit more informal means there will be a lot of scope for creativity.

The ideal candidate would have strong communication skills and be able to work independently and perform their own research about recipes etc and shopping.

Job responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Prepare meals (for around 50+ people)
  • Shop for goods and supplies (while some will be delivered but coordination still required)
  • Record all inventory, budgeting and shrinkage
  • General ability to cook things 'properly' such as steak, chicken breast, fish, vegetables, legumes
  • Experimentation tasks: e.g. make 5 stocks made in different ways and present for tasting
  • Research tasks: e.g. identify recipes or meals that make use of a specific set of ingredients

Skills and experience required:

  • Must have high hygiene standards
  • Must have some experience cooking with initiative (e.g. creating meals not just following the same menu item, not just operating a deep fryer)
  • Should have demonstrable knowledge and/or experience of cuisines and ingredients other than Filipino (European, Western, Japanese, French, Italian, etc)
  • Should have basic chef's knife set
  • Ideally, should have own transport

Your first tasks will be:

  • Cook a meal (ingredients provided)
  • Produce a menu and stock ordering plan or approach
  • Produce a draft budget based on information given

The job is Monday-Friday business hours or "mid shift" with occasional weekends (can discuss this further.)
